Jim Ed Brown is winning his cancer battle, and is ready to return to the stage. The country veteran, who spent this winter undergoing treatment for lung cancer, says he got the good news last week that he’s “in remission.” He adds that “there are not enough thanks” he can give to his family, friends, and fans for all the “prayers, well wishes, and support” he’s received “during the toughest time” of his life. Jim Ed will celebrate his renewed health at the Grand Ole Opry this weekend. He’s scheduled for both Friday and Saturday’s shows, which will mark his first performances in four months. And fans everywhere will be able to hear him. The shows will be streamed live at WSMOnline.com.
Jim Ed just might sing a few songs from his new album, “In Style Again.” Following Saturday’s show the singer will make an appearance at the Opry Store to meet fans and autograph his disc, which is his first studio release since the 1980s.
